I don’t care for Pride

12 August, 2007 | 1 comment | Category: madness!, nation & ethnicity, thinking...

Today I came to acknowledge something new about myself. Sounding like a hypocrit….I don’t care for pride at all… i repulse pride.
too proud to apologize, admit when one is wrong…

pride to express what one feels – or discuss emotion, instead choosing to philosophize about theories and concepts, patting the shiny edges of one’s reputation

pride in one’s “image”

pride in approaching others, making the first step toward building a connection – seeking a dialogue: in fear of rejection
pride in comparision to others

bottom line….it doesn’t matter…oh! why do we take ourselves so seriously and be so proud!!?? i guess its a survival of the fittest deal….

i think too much la-di-dum dum…but i also think that pride lies at the core of some of our personal and community/national misunderstandings and problems (such as the nationalism crisis of ethiopia and many other countries…)

how does butting the worst foot forward sound like…start it off with humiliation…and it could only go up from there…building.repairing pride. hehe…just keeping things interesting…. :P
