The man is C.S. Lewis. The particular book that has me astonished is one of his popular works - The Screwtape Letters. I thought perhaps unsolicited offers on the internet to blogs and forums I come across will be the best way to let more fellow habeshas know more about this guy's books - and this work in particular. And since I've been reading this blog of yours... well, I thought I might try it with you... I KNOW (does that make sense? :-)) that you can find many answers and many insights into your own life from reading this book... - well, perhaps that would be a difficult task if you are one of those militant athiests a la Richard Dawkins... but something tells me you're not. I remember my trials, the ups and downs, the anticipation, the rejection (let's not forget that), the never ending forms, emails, frustrations of how poor I am (didn't really realize that until I learnt I couldn't even afford the minimum payments after tons of scholarships), and then the anticipation of what exactly awaits me, will i like it, will I not? will i be able to achieve my goals? ... too many questions, i thought would have been answered by now, but haven't! after years, I still don't have the answers to what I believe are the most important questions in my life, and makes me wonder if they ever will be answered. AWESOME!
